Sapphire Water Dragons (SWD) was formed in December 2004. Paddling sessions are conducted at Top Lake, Lakewood Drive in Merimbula and cater for both serious and social paddlers who travel from as far afield as Cobargo, Eden, Bega and Tathra.
This exciting sport has become popular in the local area with SWD and SWDA also competing at a number of regattas in regional NSW, ACT and other Capital cities in womens, mixed and breast cancer survivor events; competitive regattas are held from October to March.
New paddlers are always welcome, so come on, have a go; we welcome everyone from 12 years of age onwards and of any fitness level.

In December 2004 Sapphire Water Dragons Abreast (SWDA) was formed by Jenny Kimber and Alice Wood, both breast cancer survivors.
We paddle to demonstrate there is quality of life despite a breast cancer diagnosis.
By being part of the team we help each other regain a sense of wellness, self-confidence and control in our lives.
Our group not only has a number of survivors, it also has a number of supporters.
